A photo on your website may have been copied from somewhere, bought under a license that doesn’t cover web use, or left there by a past web designer. Then a letter arrives asking you to pay for it. We list every image on your site, look up where each one shows up online, and sort them into three groups: source on record, check and replace. Then we replace the risky ones and keep a simple record of where every photo came from.
We look up where each photo shows up online and put it in one of three groups.

Who it’s for
Any small business with a website. Especially sites built by a past web designer, sites that used photos from Google searches or “free” photo sites, and businesses that bought stock photos years ago.
Why this matters
A photo you didn’t take can come with a bill.
Taking a photo down doesn’t erase it. Copies of old pages can stay in web archives, so a photo you removed can still be found.
WHAT THE LAW ALLOWS
A court can award an amount for each work
U.S. copyright law lets a court award $750 to $30,000 for each work used without permission, and up to $150,000 if the use was willful. A court decides the amount. This applies to registered works, and the law has rules on when the registration had to happen.
We are not lawyers and we don’t give legal advice. If you already got a letter, talk to an attorney before you pay, reply or ignore it. A reverse image search can miss photos or match the wrong one. We can’t promise that no one will ever send you a claim, and removing a photo doesn’t undo past use.
How it works
Find it. Sort it. Fix it.
We start with a list of every image on your site: the photos on your pages and the files in your media library. Then we find out where each one came from, and what proof you have.
Already have a web designer? We can work alongside them. You don’t have to replace anyone.
1
List and search every image
We list every image on your pages and in your media library, then run a reverse image search on each one to see where else it shows up online.
2
Sort them into three groups
“Source on record” means a license or your own photo, with proof. “Check” means the source is unclear. “Replace” means it is likely someone else’s photo. You get the sorted list in plain words.
3
Replace, remove and write it down
We swap risky photos for licensed photos or your own, and remove the old files so they no longer load. Then we build a simple photo record, and a one-page photo rule for your staff and web designers.
What you can buy
One check. Then a clean record.
Start with a check of every image. Replace what needs replacing. Add a recheck of new uploads every month or every quarter if you want one.

Free 10-photo source check
Do you know where your photos came from?
Ask for a free 10-photo source check. We pick 10 photos from your home page and main pages, look up where each one shows up online, and send you a short, plain summary. No cost and no obligation. We don’t need any passwords and we don’t log in to your website.
If you want our help after that, you get what we’ll do, the timing and the price in writing before you pay anything.
Plain answers about what a photo check can and can’t do.
I already got a letter asking me to pay for a photo. What should I do?
Talk to an attorney before you pay, reply or ignore it. We are not lawyers and we don’t give legal advice. We can help with the website side: finding the photo, what records you have for it, and replacing it.
If I take the photo down, is that the end of it?
Not always. Removing a photo doesn’t undo past use. Copies of old pages can stay in web archives, so a photo you removed can still be found. Taking risky photos down still helps going forward, and we remove the old files so they no longer load from your site.
Our web designer picked the photos. Isn’t that their problem?
Who is responsible is a legal question for your attorney. What we can do is find out where each photo came from, and whether there is a license or receipt on record for it.
We got some photos from Google or a “free” photo site. Is that a problem?
It may be. A photo showing up in a search doesn’t tell you who owns it or what you may do with it. We put those photos in “check” or “replace” until there is proof of where they came from.
How accurate is a reverse image search?
It helps, but it can miss photos or match the wrong one. That is why a photo without proof goes in “check”, not “source on record”, and why we tell you what we found for each one.
Do you need my website login?
Not for the free check. We only look at your public pages. For the full check we also list the files in your media library, so we ask for the access we need and nothing more. Please don’t send passwords in the form or by email.
What does it cost?
The free check costs nothing. The full check, the replacements and any recheck are quoted after it. The price depends on how many pages and images your site has. You get the price in writing before you pay anything.
