ADA & WCAG accessibility services

Website accessibility.
Across your whole site.

Help people navigate, read, watch, shop and get in touch. We find accessibility barriers across your website, repair the issues in your agreed scope, and show what changed and what still needs attention.

Built for your business

Retail and e-commerce. Professional and home services. Hospitality. Logistics. A marketing site, an online store or a customer portal starts with the same question: can people use it?

Accessibility, responsibility, action

Address ADA concerns
with concrete improvements.

Understand the obligations. Set a technical target. Build a documented plan to remove barriers.

THE LEGAL CONTEXT

ADA responsibilities

The U.S. Department of Justice takes the position that the ADA applies to the goods and services that businesses open to the public offer on the web. Inaccessible websites can also lead to complaints and legal action.

The requirements that apply to a particular business need legal advice. Othex’s role is technical assessment, remediation and evidence.

THE TECHNICAL FRAMEWORK

WCAG guides the work

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines give us criteria for evaluating and improving digital content. Our proposed technical target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Your scope specifies the WCAG version and level, the pages and processes covered, and the browsers and assistive technologies used for testing.

Automated checks are combined with human review, such as keyboard, screen-reader and visual checks. The proposal confirms the review methods, responsible reviewers and schedule before work starts.

A documented improvement program.

We show the scope, findings, repairs and unresolved issues. An automated score or a repair package is not a legal guarantee or a promise of protection from lawsuits.

What we look at

The website people actually use.

Select an area to see common barriers, the work involved and the evidence you receive.

01 / Across the site

Help people find their way.

Menus, search, dialogs and shared page elements affect how people move through the entire website.

EXAMPLE BARRIER

A menu opens with a mouse but cannot be reached or closed using a keyboard.

What the work can include

  • Keyboard navigation and visible focus
  • Menus, dialogs, search and skip links
  • Page structure and control names for screen readers

Evidence you receive

Tested components and pages, reproduction steps, source changes, retest results and remaining issues.

A shared-component repair can improve many pages. We retest the affected templates and interactions.

Whole-site planning. Explicit test coverage.

Start with the full picture.
Make every check traceable.

A whole-site assessment begins with an inventory. The plan then identifies which pages, templates, states and complete user journeys receive automated and human review.

A sample is labeled as a sample. Untested pages, inaccessible systems and excluded files remain visible in the report.

  1. Map the site

Inventory URLs, page types, shared components, important journeys, files and external tools. Identify access needs and owners.

  2. Assess breadth and depth

Run automated checks across agreed reachable pages. Manually examine representative templates, unique content and complete processes, including errors and confirmation.

  3. Repair, retest and report

Prioritize barriers by impact. Fix shared causes and page-specific issues, expand checks where findings warrant it, and record residual work.

From assessment to ongoing care

A plan you can act on.
A website you can maintain.

Three separately scoped services, with a clear decision before each commitment.

01 / ASSESSStart here

Website accessibility assessment

Understand the website’s barriers, their impact and the work required.

  • Site inventory and agreed WCAG version and level
  • Automated checks and scoped human review
  • Prioritized findings and a remediation plan
You receive: a record of what was checked, findings and a repair plan.
03 / CAREOptional

Keep accessibility in the workflow

Catch regressions as pages, products, plugins and content change.

  • Recurring checks with human review
  • Agreed manual review and repair allowance
  • Content guidance and issue reporting
You receive: recurring reports and a maintenance plan.

You receive separate quotes for assessment, repairs and care. Price depends on site size, review depth, files and media, external tools, and the work required.

Evidence your team can use

Know what changed.
Know what remains.

Your handover connects findings to the pages, components and review methods behind them.

A record of coverage
URLs, templates, journeys, standards, test environments, dates and exclusions.
Findings and remediation evidence
User impact, relevant WCAG criteria, repair ownership and retest outcomes.
A practical way forward
Unresolved issues, vendor dependencies, maintenance guidance and an accessibility statement draft reflecting the actual findings.

Start with your website

What does your
website include?

Every assessment starts with an inventory of the whole agreed site, then plans checks for navigation, page templates, content, images, contrast and zoom. Select the features your site has to help shape the proposed checks. Anything you leave unselected still belongs in the inventory.

A conversation comes first. We confirm access, coverage, review methods, reviewer availability, deliverables, timing and price before you commit.

Which of these does your website have?

Clear expectations

Before we begin.

A technical service with a defined scope and an honest record of the work.

Does this cover the whole website?

We start by mapping the entire agreed website, including page types, shared elements, journeys, files and connected tools. The proposal identifies automated coverage and the manual sample or exhaustive review agreed for each area. A sampled assessment does not mean every URL or state was manually tested, and it does not establish a site-wide conformance claim.

Will you certify us as “ADA compliant”?

We provide technical assessment, repairs and documentation against an agreed standard. We do not offer legal certification or lawsuit immunity. Your attorney advises on legal obligations; the technical report states exactly what was checked and the results.

What if we already received a demand letter?

Have your attorney handle the legal response and deadlines. We can scope the technical investigation, document barriers, prioritize remediation and retain evidence of the changes and retests.

Is an automated scan or accessibility widget enough?

Automated tools are useful for finding certain issues. Human evaluation is also needed to assess accessibility. A widget alone does not establish that a site meets accessibility standards. We assess the actual experience and repair the agreed issues in source code and content, with manual review defined in the scope. See W3C’s evaluation guidance.

What about PDFs, video and third-party tools?

They belong in the inventory. Document volume, media duration, specialist work and vendor access are scoped explicitly. If a tool cannot be changed directly, we document the dependency and discuss vendor escalation, an accessible alternative or replacement.

How is human review arranged?

Human review is a necessary part of the work, not something an automated report replaces. The proposal describes the included review methods, responsible reviewers, test environments, availability and schedule, confirmed before work starts. Specialist assistive-technology review and testing with people with disabilities are included only when agreed in the scope and capacity is confirmed.

Will we need a redesign or a subscription?

That depends on the findings. Some barriers can be repaired in existing templates and content; others may require larger changes. Assessment and remediation are separate engagements. Ongoing care is optional, with its own scope and price.

Let’s scope your
website assessment.
